Background

 

Over a century in the making, this coffee is a representation of a fifth generation coffee producing family - the Castillo’s. Emmanuel Castillo guides both this farm & a wider group of smallholder growers through the “Cosechando Esperanza” (Harvesting Hope) Programme. This programme educates and encourages these smallholder growers to experiment with processing methods. Sustainability and Social Responsibility are at the core of this programme. 

Environmental, agrochemical education, waste reduction, financial literacy, & agronomy are all part of the Harvesting Hope programme, empowering these families  to build resilience and opportunity from the ground up
